On-The-Job Training (OJT)

On-the-job training (OJT) is a training strategy that the Middle Georgia Consortium, Inc. offers local employers and job seekers. OJT puts unemployed workers back to work earning a wage while receiving training. Even better, employers can be reimbursed for the costs associated with training this new employee. OJT provides reimbursement to the employer of up to 50% of the wage rate of the participant. The training period is limited in duration as appropriate to the occupation for which the participant is being trained.

OJT may be provided to eligible WIOA participants who, after assessment, are found to be in need of and suitable for training services in order to obtain or retain employment that leads to self-sufficiency. Participants cannot begin OJT employment until a contract has been signed by the employer.
